Letter from Here

www.wordsinhere.com

Versal v.4 is nearly sold out. I was simply amazed last week to find only a few boxes left in my attic. Sure, my handy Excel sheet tells me that 450 are gone, but to actually see those few remaining boxes...I was struck with sudden and certain separation anxiety. But nevermind that. If you don't have a copy yet: I'm warning you. They're nearly gone, and once they're gone, they're gone (unless, by some stroke of luck or providence, you chance upon one in a second-hand bookstore 10 years from now).

Check out the Versal pages to find out how you can get your copy! And don't leave the other issues out, they're just as good!

Week of Stages

www.wordsinhere.com

This week, you have three chances to see wordsinhere on stage. That's right: three. Wednesday night, we'll be in Utrecht with our Salon des Mots. It's a special edition show for the Mooie Woorden Festival. Then on Thursday, we're back in Amsterdam for the first Thursday slot of The Open Stanza. And Saturday, wordsinhere Curators Anna Arov, Prue Duggan, Cralan Kelder, and Megan M. Garr will be on stage to celebrate the launch of Amsterdam Index 2007. CRAZY. Join us for the fun, festivities, and figurative language. Complete details are on site.

Stop, Drop, and Write is Back!

After a brief (summer-ish) break, Stop, Drop, and Write returns to Amsterdam. Great coffee. Free wireless. A (non)smoking section. Writers meet every Wednesday to work in a caffeinated environment from 10-12. No exercises, no critique, just you and your work, with others doing the same. New location at De Koffie Salon, Utrechtsestraat 130. It's free (of course) except for the coffee you buy. More info: info@wordsinhere.com.

News from the House

wordsinhere Curators and Versal editors Anna Arov, Prue Duggan, Kai Lashley, and Megan M. Garr travel to Geneva this month for a special Editor's Reading at Les Recyclables, in collaboration with Off the Shelf bookstore. The reading will be Saturday, 18 November starting at 6:30pm. If you're in the Geneva area and would like information on this event, please email us at info@wordsinhere.com.

That same weekend, Curator Cralan Kelder will be in Berlin for the Poetry Hearings festival, alongside many other fantastic poets. Drop by if you're in the neighborhood.

In publication news: Cralan has recently had work accepted by The Café Review. And Megan has a few things coming out on the page this month, as both Tears in the Fence and Upstairs at Duroc release their latest issues. She also has a prose piece about literary Amsterdam coming out in Amsterdam Index 2007.

And Curator Annerie Houterman celebrates her birthday on the 13th!
