NEWS

a first for The Open Stanza

This month marks the debut of wordsinhere's long-awaited The Open Stanza, when poetry mixes with sound.

The organizers are busy making the final preparations for this opening night, and already it promises to be a first for the Amsterdam scene. This debut evening will include an introduction to a few of the writers from wordsinhere, music, and revelry of bacchanalian proportions. The Open Stanza will celebrate the hard work of its organizers, the forthcoming issue of Versal, and the community which makes such amazing ideas possible.

If you're interested in helping to organize, or would like to perform at a future Open Stanza, be sure to contact us! See the calendar below for details.

first times for everything: Versal

The premier of Versal is just around the corner, and if you want to be sure to own a copy of this landmark literary magazine, order yours today! (Man - it's hard to write this kind of information down without sounding like a home-shopping ad.)

Versal includes the writing of Amatoritsero Ede, Daniel Godston, Amy Jackson, Uche Nduka, Sue-Ann Post, and Matt Sadler; the art of Boaz Sarfatty, Simon Wald-Lasowski, and Rinatu; and the work of poets, writers, and artists from wordsinhere. This is artistry from around the world, and Versal gives space to an urgency which is permeating today's poetry.

We do not yet have online ordering but the process is still easy, if not a bit old-school. You can find all the information online in our Versal pages.

CALLS FOR WRITERS

what's next for wordsinhere

After December, after wordsinhere concludes the premiers of its first two projects, we will be regrouping to brainstorm ideas and make preparations for the old and for new projects. The goal of wordsinhere is to act as conduit or vehicle through which writers and artists can realize ideas; not a closed community of elitists but a network of creative people.

If you are interested in attending this 'umbrella' meeting, or would like to find out how you can get involved, email Meg.

writers: the second Versal, the second Open Stanza
