LETTER FROM M

Last month, Cralan and I were invited to perform at a cultural "happening" in Amsterdam. The event was to last most of the day and night, and included a handful of art installations and performances from poets and musicians.

The experience was ample proof that though poetry should be included in cultural spaces, those very spaces should be made to accommodate poetry. For the poets booked that night, it was the equivalent of hanging art on black walls in a room without lighting.
