NEWS

Versal, pressed and ready

The first literary magazine from wordsinhere can now be held in your own hands. Look for it in bookstores around the Netherlands in January or order your copy through our old-school ordering process, for €8.

Versal includes the writing of Amatoritsero Ede, Daniel Godston, Amy Jackson, Uche Nduka, Sue-Ann Post, and Matt Sadler; the art of Boaz Sarfatty, Simon Wald-Lasowski, and Rinatu; and the work of poets, writers, and artists from wordsinhere.

Blah blah blah.

(If you're sick of tired literary magazines, buy Versal.)

The Open(ed) Stanza

Friday, the 20th of December marked the debut evening of The Open Stanza. Poets Megan Garr, Donald Gardner, Joke Kaviaar, Paul Evans, Jeremy Keighley, and Prue Duggan brought words, laughter, and hushed silences to the crowd at Volta. It was beautiful and a great start to what promises to be many more fun and inspiring nights. Thanks to everyone who came!

We're looking for poets and writers for our January 24th installment. If you're interested, please send samples of your work to openstanza@wordsinhere.com by the 10th.

CALLS FOR WRITERS

umbrella meeting #2

With the realization of wordsinhere's first projects, it's time to regroup and gather new ideas for the future — together again for what we've warmly dubbed our umbrella meeting. It's for anyone interested in the more 'organizational' aspect of wordsinhere and open to everyone with passion and/or ideas. We'll discuss the next steps for Versal and The Open Stanza, new workshops, etc.

It will be held at Meg's flat in Amsterdam on Sunday, 2 February at 3pm. If you are interested in attending this 'umbrella' meeting, or would like to find out how you can get involved, email Meg.
