Become an official "local" of the lit community

It's been 7 years since wordsinhere took its first steps in the Amsterdam literary community and began to give it an international face. wordsinhere—and its cornerstone, Versal—has almost single-handedly put Amsterdam on the map as "one of those writer towns", making it possible for writers who move here from other countries and cultures to not only continue but also develop their work, while maintaining connections with the places from which they hail.

Through a loose and diverse network of literary events, workshops, publication opportunities and groups, "translocal" writers in the Netherlands find the support of a strong community beneath them. wordsinhere is a kind of engine within that community, working to make sure it stays healthy, vibrant and accessible.

wordsinhere's introduction of the 2010 Versal membership is the next step in its evolution. LOCAL members will gain direct access to some of the best that this community has to offer its writers, and GLOBAL members will be able to support that community, and Versal, from outside the Dutch borders.
